Have you been up late at night scrolling for the magic solution on how to support your highly emotional/sensitive child? Your child blows your mind with empathy and capabilities, but they can throw down some epic meltdowns (making you wonder if it's normal).

What if meltdowns felt more manageable?

The relentlessness of BIG emotions makes you feel like there’s something wrong with you (or your kid), but here’s the thing: you are not the problem and your kid is not the problem. The problem is the problem. You need someone in your corner to guide you through a new approach and show you a different way.

Show of hands if you...

  • Feel like many of daily moment are hard: morning routine, getting in the car, putting on clothes, bedtime, all the time.

  • Feel exhausted from anticipating their emotions and regulating your own.

  • Worry that you're doing it wrong and impacting your child.

  • Are burdened with the mental load of trying to figure this out.

Ready to mellow the meltdowns?

Learn the art of emotional regulation in today’s parenting culture with this FREE 5-part series designed for moms. Using creativity and mindfulness you will learn how to stay calm and develop an authentic approach to managing and responding to BIG feelings.

This is for you if:

  • AND/OR you are interested in using creativity as an outlet in parenting through tough moments

  • * highly sensitive = big feelings, overwhelmed by loud noises, bright lights, strong smells, or uncomfortable clothing, asks deep questions, very empathetic, showing concern for others' feelings and often reacting strongly to perceived injustices.

Creativity is a powerful way to mellow the meltdowns.

We will come together as like minded moms to learn some foundational co-regulation skills, meditate and create (written or art) so that you can practice staying calm in the chaos. In each session, you will be given additional resources to deepen your experience. The idea is that each week the commitment is quick, lovely, and meaningful, helping to mellow the meltdowns.

Intrigued, but worried about the creative parts? No prior skills or experience are needed. Just grab your favourite colours, a journal, and a pen or pencil, and I'll take care of the rest. You have full permission to use the supplies you DO have (do not overthink this).

If you're more particular about having the right stuff, I've got you covered. Check out this blog about the supplies I suggest you have in your at-home art therapy kit.

Hey there mama! I’m Kayla Huszar

As an ADHD mom, Registered Social Worker and Expressive Art Therapist, I know what it’s like to navigate life with a highly sensitive kid.

I help moms calm the chaos of motherhood with creativity so that they can show up calm, cool and collected in more moments.

Some moms find that simply watching these videos on how to mellow the meltdown isn’t enough. If you feel the same way, I invite you to book a session with me, or another expressive art therapist in your region.

See you this summer,

Kayla Huszar, Creative counsellor and coach for moms

Kayla Huszar

I believe that women are not given the tools to succeed in parenting. Constantly striving for an unattainable standard leaves mothers feeling inadequate and overwhelmed.

Through the use of creative arts, there is a beautiful moment of sacred stillness. A simple act of intentional creativity can remind a mother of who she is, what is truly important, and what she is capable of.

I aim to provide the best creative arts services both online and in person, because every mother deserves a simple and effective outlet for finding chill, being vibrant and feeling alive.
